WATCH: Ghanaian singer Nana Fofie opens concert for Nicki Minaj in Holland

Ghanaian singer and songwriter, Nana Fofie was one of the opening acts on Nicki Minaj’s tour stop in Holland. Held at the Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam on Monday, March 25, 2019, it saw Fofie introduce her craft to thousands at one of the world’s busiest concert avenues for 15 minutes. Known as the ‘Mash Up Queen,’ she has worked her way up the music ladder with her brilliant covers and mashups. Checks by  livefmghana.com  indicates Minaj has had Fofie on her radar for a while – sharing her music with her fans online and also talking about her (Fofie) during the UK edition of Queen Radio in March 2019. “She’s so fucking dope. I wish I had time to play her. M.anifest to speak at 2019 Ephraim Amu Memorial Lecture on May 30

Ghanaian artiste, M.anifest has been named as a speaker at the 2019 Ephraim Amu Memorial Lecture. The ‘godMC’ act will speak on the topic “Re-imagining us: the role of popular music in self-actualisation” at the event which will be on May 30, 3019 at the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences auditorium. The lecture was started in 1998 by the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences and the International Centre for African Music and Dance of the University of Ghana. It was initiated to “commemorate the achievements of a humble and dedicated man from Peki Avetile, who devoted his entire life to cultural nationalism” in the person of Ephraim KÉ”ku Amu, the late Ghanaian composer, musicologist and teacher. An exhibition of memorabilia on the life and deeds of the great, distinguished composer and nationalist precede the Ephraim Amu Memorial lectures. Ghanaian-American actress, MaameYaa Boafo has been cast as a series regular in a legal drama pilot by American Television Network, National Broadcasting Company (NBC). She would play opposite Jimmy Smits and Caitlin McGee in the drama with the working title ‘Bluff City Law’ co-created by Dean Georgaris and Michael Aguilar. Boafo will play Briana Logan, a private investigator in the series that follows the lawyers of an elite Memphis firm that specializes in the most controversial landmark civil rights cases. Led by legendary lawyer Elijah Strait (Smits) and his brilliant daughter, Sydney Keller (McGee), they take on the toughest David-and-Goliath cases while navigating their complicated relationship.
