TV producer and celebrity/talent booker Emerald-Jane Hunter was born in Ghana in 1980. She had her basic and secondary school education at Bishop Bowers and the Wesley Girls High School respectively.
She moved to the United States Of America in 1999 where she subsequently studied for a degree in Communication & Linguistics at the Luther College in Decorah, IA.
Hunter’s inspiration to go into the television field was inspired by an internship she did at Telnet Of Decorah while she was studying at Luther in September 2011.
She has freelanced on productions such as Bridezillas on WeTV, Oprah’s Big Give, Sunday Best in BET, American Idol, American Inventor and many others. She has also worked on The Stellar Gospel Music Awards and a variety of local and syndicated game shows.
In 2008, she and a colleague created and launched a weekly half-hour magazine style TV show for WMAQ-NBC5 in Chicago.
After 5 Emmy nominations and years of hardwork, Hunter finally received her first Emmy in 2011 with the talkshow Windy City LIVE.
Hunter is also the President and Executive Producer of Emerald-Jane Productions Inc, her own production company which she founded in 2007.
She speaks English, French, Fanti and Ga and lives in Chicago with her husband and two children.
